Solarmente is a solar energy startup based in Barcelona aiming to make solar energy accessible to everybody. Creating a synergy between existing technologies and high potential software solutions adapted to the Spanish market. We scan rooftops by satellite pictures, creating a personalized solar-energy offer with just a click on a button, reducing the electricity bill, leaving the customer with a big smile and reducing the CO2-footprint ridiculously. Spain, with places in the country with almost 3000 hours of sun each year and an electricity price that rose +42% over the last 8 years. A country that has “forbidden” the use of solar panels for personal consumption, only allowing them when paying the nationwide hated “sun-tax ”. There is NO solution. Now, May 2019, the government gave green light: Everybody is allowed to have solar panels, no registration, no tax and the ability to sell the surplus to the grid. This is probably the biggest positive change in tech-regulations since decades.
